SATELLITE PROPELLANT MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

Our NuSpace division provides proprietary technology for the near-net spin-forming of domes and hemispheres for propellant and pressurant storage, allowing for ultra-thin walled, close tolerance machining in less time and at lower cost than components made from forgings.

SPECIAL PROCESSING

NuSpace provides state-of-the-art welding technologies, including Gas Tungsten Arc (GTA — often called TIG), Variable Polarity Plasma Arc (VPPA) and Plasma. Our inspection services extend to non-destructive evaluation including FPI and X-ray testing. We also provide bubble point testing and leak detection using helium mass spectroscopy.

SPUN PRODUCTS

We utilize both conventional and CNC processes to produce high quality dome products ranging up to 10 ft. in diameter. The ability to spin to near-net shape reduces the amount of finish machining compared with forging or other forming technologies, providing both cost and lead time advantages to our customers.

AWACS BEARING

We provide full overhaul and repair of the rotodome turntable and bearing assembly for the United States Air Force “AWACS” aircraft. As a large, technologically advanced bearing, the AWACS turntable measures 92” diameter and weighs 2300 lbs. Our Long Beach facility possesses the advanced capability required to service this dynamic component.
